Mya Grace!

Hey Ya'll! It has been forever since I have blogged. Life has been crazy and we don't have internet at our house. We used to be able to tap into the neighbors:) but they moved. Sad. This post is going to have a lot of pictures:) Most of you probably already know that I had a baby girl this past Jan. I guess I will start from the beginning.

Chad and I decided to start a family and we didn't think that we would get pregnant the first month, but it only took two months:) I was not working so I was home and I took a test while chad was at work and it was positive and I didn't believe it! So...I drove to the store and bought three more tests. haha. I called Chad at work bawling my eyes out telling him he was going to be a daddy:) We knew for about a week before we told everyone. When we told Chad's family, we called Chad's sister who lives in Colorado and told them first and we were going to have Chad's little neice call Chad's parents house and tell everyone that I was pregnant. Nobody got it and had no idea what they were talking about until I started crying haha. When we told my family, I emailed Chaz and tell him to send an email to have everyone read together, so we went over to my parents and I made Trey read the letter cause he was half asleep. It was fun:) Anyways, the week of my birthday is when the morning sickness started and like a week later i got a new job. It was lovely. We went to my first OB appt and found out my due date was January 28th. We got to see the little bean swimming around inside of me and see the heartbeat. It was the neatest experience ever:) About everyday for the first 18 weeks I threw up every morning, took a zofran and went to work. Oh and the smell of salmon made we sick too. It wasn't as bad as most people, but throwing up when you have nothing in your stomach is not my idea of fun. Sorry if TMI. We found out we were having a girl at about 16 weeks and 4 weeks later we got a 3D ultrasound. (I don't have a scanner so I don't have pictures of any of my ultrasounds) I will just skip to the birth story cause I am sure you don't want to hear about me complaining about how uncomfortable I was, but I actually miss being pregnant. I have an excuse to be fat and feeling my little munchkin inside of me.

I went to the Dr. the Friday before my due date and I was already dilated to a 2 and 80% effaced and Dr said that if I had progressed by the next appt we could schedule an induction date. So I tried everything to either start labor but it didn't work. I went to the dr and she checked me and I was dilated to a 3 and 80% effaced yay! We scheduled an induction for Tuesday Jan. 24th, 4 days before my due date. We woke up at 4 in the morning to get ready. We got to the hospital at 5:30 and checked in and got in our room. At 7 they gave me an IV, which made me super nauseous so I threw up in front of everyone:) and they gave me an oxygen mask. I had to go through 2 bags of fluid before they would start me on my pitocin. I finally got my pitocin about 9, so I was waiting for the contractions to start soon. I started feeling some contractions, but they were not bad at all, just felt like a little cramping. I kinda played diva and told them I was getting really uncomfortable and that i wanted my epidural. I didn't want to feel anything so I told them I was in more pain than I was:) Shortly after I got my epidural my dr. came in and broke my water. I was in heaven! I didn't feel anything. A couple of hours later, the epidural started to wear off on just one side. So I was feeling everything on one side and not the other. It was uncomfortable. The dude that gave me the epidural came back in and gave me another dose and it started to work again. By about 1 or 2, I was dilated to a 6 and 90% effaced. and then about 4 or 4:15 the nurse checked me and she didn't say anything and Chad asked her what was wrong, and she said that I was fully dilated and thinned out and they were going to get me ready. Yay! I got all ready and they had me do a couple of trial pushes. They made me stop after a couple pushes cause she was coming out and my dr was not there yet. We had to wait about 15 minutes. it seemed like forever! Dr. Johannson showed up, got all scrubbed up, and told me to push...she counted to 5 and told me to stop and baby Jorgensen was born!

Finally...

Well, I haven't been very good at this blogging thing and those that follow me, I am sorry haha. I thought I would just do a quick update on what has been going on lately. I am not a picture taker, so this post will not have pictures and I am sorry for that.
My brother Chaz got his mission call a while ago and we dropped him off at the MTC on Jan. 12th..that was harder than I thought it was going to be. Originally we were to drop him off at the airport and send him to Brazil, but the Brazil people are being difficult and are taking a long time getting visas out, so he had to go to provo. Hopefully he will get to go to Brazil, but he might be reassigned to somewhere in the states. We will see what happens. He loves it though :)

So...on my mom's side of the family, my grandma has I think 8 great grand-kids and all of them are boys, so the pressure was on me and chad to have the first girl. Just recently two of my cousins got prego..one of them has 3 boys and the other has 1 boy. The one that is having 3 boys will be having another boy and the one who has 1 boy is having a ......girl! Thank you Ashley and Brock for taking the pressure off of me haha. I wanted a girl until the "first girl" spot was taken...now I don't care....and no I am not currently pregnant! haha.

Chad just got a new job in Jan. and he loves it...we didn't think that we would ever be able to find him a job that he likes. He works for Weber School District doing maintenance stuff. When we had that big snow storm around Pres day he got to go snow plow for the first time...he was in heaven haha. As for me, I am still working at the IRS, but I am on furlough right now, which I think is stupid. Oh well.

That is all for now...I will try to take pictures and blog more often.
Have a great day! Oh and congrats to Amanda for having a healthy baby girl!!!

Chad's Birthday

Today is Chad's birthday, but we had a party on Friday:) I came up with an idea to have a custom made cake for his party and to surprise him. If you know me well, it is very hard for me to keep in a surprise, so when I kept this to myself for a month I was proud of myself! One night I was texting my sis in law and reminded her that the cake was a surprise and to not tell Chad. Chad comes in the room and asks me who I am texting and I said Jen, and he said what is she saying, so when Jenn texted me back, she said "......... and the cake is a surprise with me" I just gave away the surprise to Chad...CRAP! haha. He still didn't know what the cake was :) I was really proud of myself! The party was great....everyone came and we had a fun time! Happy Birthday Babe!!! xoxo

Slacker!

I am not too good at this blogging thing as you can tell :) We currently don't have internet at our house, because we decided that saving money was more important and we get to take advantage of the free internet at our parents house :) Yay for parents haha...yes we still do rely on our parents for some stuff.

A lot has happened in the last little bit....I went back to work after being furlough from the IRS for 4-5 months, which was bitter sweet because i got to sleep in everyday, but I wasn't really making money....Chad got a new job. Yay FINALLY!!! Goodbye Lowes! He will be starting at Smith's Warehouse in a week or two. It's a huge pay raise, so we will be able to pay stuff off and save lots:) I love saving money.

I have this stupid cold right now...I seem to always be sick, it is never fun. Whenever I tell people that I am sick, they automatically assume that I am pregnant...NOPE! I am not pregnant, I will tell you if I become pregnant, trust me! haha. Ever since Chad and I got married, the first thing someone says to you is "so when are you going to have a baby?" it didn't bother me at first, but now it is starting to get on my nerves. HAHA! Of course we want kids, but not right now, so quit bugging me about it haha:) I am so nice:) Here are some photos of what has been going on lately in the life of the Jorgensen's :) Enjoy!

We got new furniture!!!

Four wheeling with the in-laws.

...and, we got a new dog :) Well, we got him back in May (the one on the right) and we named him Dax. The dog on the left is Abby and we got her a little over a year ago:)

I will try to update as often as possible:)

Elder Chaz Lex Puffer...

Yes...my brother is now all grown up and received his mission call yesterday! So exciting! We had a little gathering at my parents house where he opened it. Chaz made everyone guess where he was going and the person who got it right, got a free Jamba haha. I guessed Portugal...but, I was wrong :(

Elder Chaz Lex Puffer has been called to serve as a missionary to the BRAZIL BELEM MISSION! He leaves Jan. 12th 2011! Wow! I was so convinced that he was going to a spanish speaking mission. I am so excited for him! Congrats Elder Puffer!

Now..our summer has been pretty busy! My family went on a church history tour in july, on Chad's side of the family, we welcomed a new neice, and Chad has been working non-stop! Here are some pictures of what we have been up to this summer!

this is just a few of hundreds of pictures! I will post more later!

S'MORE BARS!!!

Since I have been married, I have been trying to cook more often ya know...be the best housewife ever, and I came across this recipe for Smore Bars! They are to die for, so I am going to post the recipe :) Enjoy!

Ingredients:
16tbs of butter (at room temp)
1/2 C. brown sugar
1C sugar
2 eggs
2tsps vanilla
2 2/3 C flour
1 1/2 graham crakcer crumbs
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
4 large (4.4 oz) chocolate bars
3 cups of marshmallow fluff
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

Lightly grease a 9-inch x 13-inch glass baking pan and line it with parchment paper, so the paper hangs over the sides a little. (The parchment will make it really easy to air lift the bars out of the pan if you want to.) Set it aside.

Put the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar in the bowl of your mixer (or a large bowl if mixing by hand).

Cream them together until uniform

Toss in the eggs and vanilla. Beat until the mixture thickens a little and fluffs up

In a separate bowl, mix together the graham cracker crumbs, flour, baking powder, and salt until uniform

Toss the dry mixture into the butter / sugar mixture

Beat to incorporate, just until all the ingredients come together

The dough will be soft, kind of loose, and a little mealy feeling from the graham cracker crumbs. That’s just fine.

Gather the dough into a ball. Whack it in half with a bencher or sharp knife.

Take one half, plop it in your prepared pan, and smoosh it down so that it covers the bottom of the pan completely in an even layer.

Then, unwrap all your chocolate bars. Cover the dough with a single layer of chocolate, cutting the bars as needed to fit your pan.

Next, cover the chocolate in an even layer of marshmallow fluff. (What’d I tell you? Sticky, ridiculous fun!

Finally, you need to add the top crust. This is the trickiest part. Sort of. Grab the other half of the dough

Smoosh it flat on a board (flour the board lightly, if you want, to make it easier to get the dough off).

Make it roughly the same size and shape as your pan, so you know it’ll be big enough to cover the whole top

Then, slice it into strips. (The gal over at Baked Perfection recommends rolling it out in a zip-top bag, then slicing the bag off and laying it on in a single layer. You could try that, too.)

And lay it on top of the fluff

Repeat with the rest of the dough. Your goal is to cover the fluff completely with it, leaving as few gaps as you can

Pop the pan into your preheated oven. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30-35 minutes, until the top is golden brown.

Yank the pan out of the oven. Let it cool completely on a rack. If you like (this is what I did), pop them in the fridge when they hit room temperature. It will make them waaaay easier to slice, and you can always nuke ‘em in the microwave for a few seconds to get them nice and gooey again

So Yum!!!!!
